Darren Lee Joins Group Development Team
Ferryspeed customers can look forward to enhanced, more efficient customer service and a smoother shipping experience thanks to the appointment of Darren Lee as Group Development Manager.
Darren joined the company in April 2003 and has since gained both operational and customer services experience through a succession of roles including warehouse supervisor, transport duty manager and customer relations operations manager, giving Darren a comprehensive working knowledge of vehicle loading, route planning, customer services, and claims management.
In this new role, Darren will utilise all of the knowledge he has gained to date with a view to increasing efficiency and optimising the overall customer experience within every department.
As Group Development Manager, Darren will be working closely with Nick Green, Group Development Director, to develop new and optimise existing systems and processes to drive efficiencies. By enhancing day-to-day operations and implementing new technologies, Darren hopes to make Ferryspeed’s Channel Island shipping services more efficient than ever.
“We have both short-term and long-term projects to help enhance systems across the company.” Darren said.
“We have already implemented the first development, installing trackers on our fleet and assets to help drive efficiencies. In the short term, we want the business to be barcode scanning so both our customers and team have full visibility of their goods. Whilst implementing this we will also be pushing on with other projects. Whilst we know we already provide a great service to our clients, there is always room for improvement, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to develop the company even further.”

Darren’s role will continue to encompass responsibility for the Shipping and Customs departments in addition to working closely with myself as we look to drive positive improvements throughout the company.
