Ready Steady Bake

The Great British Bake Off came to Ferryspeed last month, as staff rallied to take part in an all-day coffee morning, raising £1,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
On Friday 28th September, Ferryspeed staff members from departments throughout the Portsmouth site donated an array of cakes and sweet treats as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
There were delicious cakes on sale all day, many of which were homemade, including traditional favourites, such as Victoria Sponge, Coffee & Walnut cake and flapjacks. The highlight was a Mint Chocolate Aero Cake, handmade by one of the members of the Transport Department!
As an extra boost to the fundraiser, there was a raffle in the afternoon, which featured a variety of fantastic prizes donated by Ferryspeed and a number of generous customers. Prizes included a BMX bike, a printer/scanner, children’s toys, bottles of Prosecco, chocolates and a Henry Hoover.
Once again, a big thank you to Sally Newman who played a key role in organising the event, encouraging fellow staff members to get their aprons on to make this annual Coffee Morning such a great success.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Ferryspeed has taken part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s national fundraising event. Macmillan is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist medical, emotional, practical and financial support to people living with cancer in the UK, as well as their family and friends.
