Ferryspeed’s coffee morning is a recipe for fundraising success

An all-day coffee morning held across multiple Ferryspeed sites has raised in excess of £1200 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
On Friday 29 September, generous staff members from the two Portsmouth sites and Jersey donated cakes and prizes to help make Ferryspeed’s take on the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning a success.
Delicious treats on sale, most of which were homemade, included coffee and walnut cake, cupcakes, muffins, scones, Baileys chocolate cheesecake and lemon meringue pie. A couple of healthy options were available too.
The raffle was a hit with a host of impressive prizes on offer including two bikes generously donated by Stomp and Wood Reserve Bourbon, along with chocolates, kindly donated by Waitrose. Some Ferryspeed staff members also paid £2 in order to come to work ‘dressed down’.
Sally Newman played a key role in organising the event putting posters up around the main Portsmouth building and sending reminder emails, encouraging fellow staff members to ‘get your apron on and get baking’.
This is the third consecutive year that Ferryspeed has taken part in the national event to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support, the charity which provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support for the people living with cancer in the UK, as well as their family and friends.
